Mosser Nursing Home welcomes visitors at any time. We kindly ask that you respect the privacy of all residents and keep visits within generally accepted daytime hours.
If you outlive your financial resources, Mosser Nursing Home will assist you in applying for Medical Assistance. As long as eligibility and commitments are maintained, no resident will be discharged for financial reasons.
To join the Mosser community, applicants must meet both medical and financial eligibility:
- Medical eligibility is determined by a physician
- Financial eligibility is based on personal resources and/or insurance coverage
Our team is here to help guide you through the process and answer any questions along the way.

All adults are eligible for admission to Mosser Nursing Home. We do not limit admission due to locality, organizational affiliation or personal resources.
The Department of Health conducts unannounced annual reviews of skilled nursing facilities to ensure they meet Medicare and Medicaid standards.
These multi-day surveys include:
- Facility tours and care evaluations
- Medical record and staffing reviews
- Resident and family interviews
- Inspections of food service, housekeeping, and social services
A report is issued after the review. Any required improvements must be addressed within a set timeframe to maintain compliance and quality standards.
The rating system helps individuals and families compare skilled nursing facilities. Each facility receives separate ratings for:
- Health Inspections
- Staffing Levels
- Quality Measures
These are then combined to create an overall facility rating, making it easier to evaluate and choose the right care provider.
The Medicare website offers resources to assist in the decision making process of finding the right skilled nursing facility for individual’s needs. The Pennsylvania Department of Health website also offers a checklist of items to ask when researching facilities.
